Lily's Snack!!

We have a yellow lab who is almost 3!! She is a good dog, but a big dog. At night she sleeps in our room and we put a baby gate up so she can't roam the house. She has been sleeping lately with the girls in the living room since their room is to cold for them. But, on Sunday night, the girls were gone at Landon and Calvin's house, so I finished getting the Christmas cards that needed to be mailed ready and they were sitting on the coffee table next to the rest that needed to have pictures added for the family cards to be delivered on Christmas eve. Dh decided to go to bed and I went into my crap, I mean craft room to work on a few cards and I heard a crash!!

This is what I discovered -

And this is Lily - Lily the Pilly

My cousin Catherine who a few months back had me make the dreaded purple cards - lol- Asked me to do a tag book with coupons for her husband Travis. They, like many of us are feeling the pinch this year and with a 8 yr old boy and a baby girl (Miss Carley - yeah another C name, made my girls happy!) due on Feb. 12th, I was happy to oblige, so here is Travis' Christmas coupon book!!

Limelight Papercrafts Six Chicks Sketch Challenge #11

Yesterday was Limelight Papercrafts Six Chicks Sketch Challenge #11. And since I needed more Christmas cards, I dug out an old set I had from SU from 1998 which I love and used Basic Gray Wassill paper for the challenge. The picture is kind of funky as we took it at about midnight last night on the living room couch!! lol

Snow is still here!!

School was cancelled yesterday due to the snow and also today. I did not have much access to my computer due to the fact the girls had it most of the day. I finished one of my Christmas decorations that I have been working on the other night. A few weeks back on Splitcoast there was a Christmas Accordian tag made by Sharon Johnson in the galleryhere. She had the instructions posted here. Well, I thought this would be fun, so I made my own. I actually have done two but this is the first finished one.

Gift Not Included!!!!

Ok, my kids do have a sense of humor!! lol For the Youth group gift exchange, it was a cheap gag gift. So, Catie came up with this idea of wrapping two batteries with a tag that says gift not included!! So, this is what we did. It is sad though because youth group was cancelled due to the snow.

It's snowing!!

We have had some snow off and on since Saturday night. This is our front yard late this afternoon.

Clear Dollar Stamps Color Challenge

At Clear Dollar Stamps weekend color challege at Paper Craft Planet, Linda picked the colors Pretty In Pink, Real Red and Sage Shadow. Since I don't have any of the SU colors, I used a red and pink from my scrap bin and Olive from CTMH. I used the tree from Charlie Snowhorse set that I love. I also got to use my new swiss dot folder for the first time. I would never put these colors together, but I did my best. Thanks Linda!!

Happy Friday everybody and have a great weekend

Limelight Papercrafts Six Chicks Sketch Challenge #10

The Limelight sketch challenge today was fun. You should have seen me cutting these strips!!! A whole bunch went into the fireplace - and man is my house warm today!! lol
I used my Snowman from CTMH as he was stamped and ready to cut out. Dh is home this week and next and is finally installing shelfs in my linen closet that was redone over a year ago when we remodeled my bathroom!!! Oh no, the guy who did the remodeling couldn't put the shelfs in, dh said he could do it. I think he finally decided to do it so he could keep sleeping in the house instead of his shop (yes I have been threatening it!!)
Have a great day!! Oh and go check out my friend Stamp Katie's card and scroll down and look at her snowflake cookies she made for my candle party the other night. They were so yummy!! I am so lucky to have a friend like her!!

hugs,

First Day of Christmas at Limelight Papercrafts

At Limelight Papercrafts they are doing a 12 Days of Christmas. They have challenges, games, giveaways and fun!! Today's challenge came from Lisa to create a card with a bird, ie: the First day of Christmas . . . . a partridge in a pear tree!! Ok, here is mine. I used the little tree and ornaments from Charlie Snowhorse and the bird is from Charlie Fenced in. (Both sets are from Clear Dollar stamps and I used scrap papers from my bin!! I used Martha Stewart glitter and some ribbon I got at Michaels. I hope you like it.

Business Christmas Cards

We own our own lawn care business, K & B Lawn Care and we have about 25 steady customers and a few we do once in a while, so I like to make cards for them. What was really cool about this is I was hostess for the CTMH stamp club and got all the stuff for free!! Made dh happy. I ended up taking over the coffee table for a few days - it is nice to have it back. Now all I have to do is sign and address these.

Green Christmas Ornament

Here is the second of my ornaments. This one is the green one. They both found new homes last night - my sister Julie got this one and my sil Darlene got the blue one. This one was harder to do as it is a smaller square to roll into the cones. lol

Stamp Something Sketch Challenge

This weeks sketch challenge at Stamp Something was fun and challenging to make them fit on a card without making a huge card!! lol I used a glue pad for the circles stamping a snowflake with the glue pad, heating it up and then adding the glitter. Well, next time I will put the whole card together before I add the glitter because by the time I got done most of the glitter was barely there! I have such a terrible time using the glue pad. But I do like how this turned out.

Not much to post!!

I haven't got much to post, I have been making some ornaments and working on my family history this week. I have lots of notebooks full of family history and have been working on it off and on for about 7 years. Still trying to find my g-g- grandparents on the Russell side!!! I need to go to Brasher Falls, New York and search for my g-grandparents marriage license, I guess. I know when, where and the minister but can't find it online!!

I have also been researching where my dh Keith's dad was held when he was a POW during WWII. Keith's dad passed away in 1976 when Keith was 8 and his mom in 1992 before we were married and I didn't know before that I would want to know!! On Sunday, we went to his Aunt and Uncle's 66th wedding anniversary and she had more family pictures for me. And in with the pictures was a postcard that Keith's dad sent to her in 1945 from the Prison camp - Stalag 1X B Bad Orb- written right on it. Oh my goodness, I about cried. So I went into the POW archives and found his name. Now I know exactly where he was. I spent hours and lots of postage in 2003 tracing down the men in his unit and corresponded with a few - but they did not know where he was held because they went different places. He was held by the Germans from Dec. 18, 1944 until Bad Orb was liberated in April of 1945 by an American unit. I am still alive, just working on different things.

Lori's Sketch!!

Lori WIlson at Clearly Delightful blog has a sketch up with some blog candy. She designs stamps for Clear Dollar Stamps.

I used my Charlie Horse stamp - which I love!! and CTMH Sarsparilla papers.

P.S. It took me three different times to upload this - the reason is that little Calvie guy - he likes buttons and 'accidentally' pulled the plug on the computer!! lol
